IPC CID Success for GSPK Design Engineers
Antony
and Rakhi

At GSPK Design, we’re committed to investing in our team. It’s one of the key things we do to stay at the forefront of electronic design and prototyping. That’s why we’re proud to announce that Antony (BSc) and Rakhi (BTech, MTech, MSc) have both completed the IPC Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) course, an internationally recognised standard in PCB design.

The course focussed on transforming electronic circuits into reliable, manufacturable PCB layouts that meet industry standards. It used real-world applications and provided our engineers with the knowledge needed to improve design quality, reduce errors, and work confidently with GSPK Design’s clients and suppliers.

What Does the Course Cover?

This training covered a wide range of important electronic design topics, including:

• Key PCB Design Factors 00000000000 • Addressing issues with components and assemblies

• Documentation of PCB design 0000000• High current and voltage design considerations

• Best practices for PCB layouts 0000000• Introductions to different types of components

• PCB surface finishes 00000000000000• Risk identification and mitigation in advanced PCB design

• Characteristics of printed boards 00000• Reliability and testing

Why CID Matters

The CID qualification confirms that our engineering team is working to the highest standards in electronic design. It helps us improve the quality and consistency of our work and ensures we’re designing with manufacturability in mind, which will help to reduce the risk of issues further down the line. It also leads to clearer communication and documentation across projects and keeps us aligned with current industry standards. Collectively, this helps us continue to build stronger, long-term relationships with our clients.

About Antony (BSc)

Antony joined GSPK Design in 2022 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music, Multimedia and Electronics. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, photography and making music. He also enjoys restoring old electronics, including synthesisers and audio equipment.

This combination of technical knowledge and passion for electronics, even outside of work, reflects Antony’s genuine enthusiasm for his role, and it’s something he brings to his design engineering work every day.

About Rakhi (BTech, MTech, MSc)

Rakhi joined GSPK Design in 2023 and holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering, a Master of Technology in Signal Processing, and a Master of Science in Instrumentation and Control Engineering with Advanced Practice. Outside of work, she enjoys reading a good book and baking cakes. When asked about the recent IPC CID course, Rakhi said:

“The course provided a comprehensive overview of PCB design principles grounded in IPC standards. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on design for manufacturability and reliability, which helped me better understand how layout decisions impact downstream processes. The materials were well-structured, and the instructor’s insights into real-world scenarios added valuable context beyond the textbook.”

Celebrating the Milestone

We’re proud of Antony and Rakhi’s dedication to achieving this certification, and we’re excited to see the high-quality work they’ll continue to produce for GSPK Design and our clients.
